Description
A ritual celebrating the roots of three cultures: DUO ANDALUS brings Andalusian, Sephardic and Middle Eastern musical traditions into a vibrant dialogue. Singer, poet, guembri player and dancer Lala Tamar joins flamenco guitarist, oud player and arranger Ofer Ronen. Together, they weave voice, guitar, percussion and storytelling into a musical journey through Morocco, Spain, Israel, North Africa and the Mediterranean – intimate, rhythmic, sensual and full of movement.
Lala Tamar combines the soul of Morocco with Brazilian grooves and North African rituals. She sings in Arabic, Amazigh and Portuguese and was the first artist to release a contemporary album in Haketía. Ofer Ronen, born in Tel Aviv and now based in Barcelona, draws on flamenco, Arabic music, Jewish-Mediterranean traditions and world music. In DUO ANDALUS, the two celebrate a shared musical heritage that bridges continents and centuries – an invitation to listen, remember and dance.
