RAASH VE RUACH – NOISE AND WIND

Alex Stolze and Ben Osborn first met while creating a Rosh Chodesh service at a Berlin synagogue. This spiritual encounter developed into a longstanding artistic collaboration that unfolds in an extraordinary live performance. Moving between electronic soundscapes, finely interwoven song structures and atmospheric instrumental compositions, they place Jewish musical tradition in a contemporary context.

At the centre is Alex Stolze’s specially developed five-string violin, which he uses to combine Middle Eastern-inspired melodies, polyrhythms and electronic sound worlds. The concert takes his current album “Raash ve Ruach” (2024) as its point of departure, exploring questions of Jewish identity and spirituality in a fragmented world. Ben Osborn expands this sonic universe with piano, synthesisers and poetic songwriting. The British composer, author and multi-instrumentalist moves between folk, modern classical music and electronica, creating finely woven sonic spaces in which personal stories and political themes intersect.
