“textile, symbols and self-representation”
In this workshop, we will explore how to find our own voice within collective work by examining our personal history, aspects of belonging and identity, and attempting to uncover our personal and collective narratives and stories, as well as defining our own representative symbols. It’s about connecting the past with the present, narrating history(ies) through the creative work of textile art, and showcasing our self-defined hybrid identities.
Speaker:
Adi Liraz is an interdisciplinary artist and educator currently based between Berlin and Ioannina, Greece. She holds a Master of Arts from the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin and a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Through her work, Adi Liraz aims to reframe concepts of home and belonging beyond the national, hegemonic, and patriarchal. (adiliraz.com) As part of the artist network of Dagesh – Jewish Art in Context, she is involved in the cultural education program Dagesh on Tour.
