Every day, people risk their lives because they have to flee their homes. They are drowning in the Mediterranean. They freeze to death in forests on Europe’s external border. They live like prisoners in inhumane camps – forgotten and lost. MISSION LIFELINE does not accept this. It is not just a commandment of humanity. The duty to rescue people from distress at sea, from the danger of war, from danger to life and limb is enshrined in international law. Where states fail, MISSION LIFELINE acts.
For seven years now, the association MISSION LIFELINE from Dresden has been committed to the protection of human rights. In addition to practical emergency aid in the central Mediterranean or in direct refugee aid, her focus is on observation, reporting, awareness-raising, education and, of course, human rights and political work.
In various successful projects, such as sea rescue in the central Mediterranean, the observation mission in the Atlantic, but also in refugee aid, for example in the former Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos or currently in the evacuation of threatened persons from Afghanistan, MISSION LIFELINE was able to save people fleeing acute mortal danger and support them on their way to a secure future.
Since the Russian attack on Ukraine, MISSION LIFELINE has been sending convoys to Ukraine’s western border to support people fleeing the crisis area. At the same time, the association supplies necessary medicines to various Ukrainian hospitals.
Together with many hundreds of volunteers, the MISSION LIFELINE team works exclusively financed by donations.
MISSION LIFELINE e.V.
Every day, people risk their lives because they have to flee their homes.
They are drowning in the Mediterranean. They freeze in forests on Europe’s external border. They live like prisoners in inhumane camps – forgotten and lost.
A Dresden association does not accept this. Because it is not only an imperative of humanity – it is enshrined in international law to save people from distress at sea, from the danger of war, from danger to life and limb. Where states fail, they want to act.
That is why MISSION LIFELINE was founded in 2016.
